Kung-Fu For Coral Health

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joeyellis/kung-fu-for-coral-health

We need not focus on the fear that China will destroy our environment, but focus on the hope of how they could in fact save it. It's like that shocking story we are told as kids that if everyone in China would jump at exactly the same time it might shake the earth off it's axis and kill us all. I like to think the opposite... if a billion Chinese jump for green energy, green living and a sustainable future filled with conservation and protection of the environment, then the changes would be HUGE! (amazing to imagine, right?)

Gili Eco Trust

http://www.giliecotrust.com/

The Gili Islands are 3 beautiful Islands off the West Coast of Lombok and only a 2,5 hour boat ride from Bali. The Gili Islands are already a popular tourist destination and a world known diving paradise, and its popularity is growing massively, year on year. But all of this is in danger as is the case is so many areas of the world. Due to many factors such as Global Warming, changed weather activities, storms, deforestation, and of course human destruction such as pollution, ignorant anchoring, and destructive fishing practices. The combination of these problems the land, the beaches and  the corall reefs, especially in the shallow water, have suffered devastating damages. that is why people who care formed the Gili Eco Trust in 2002 to conserve and  protect these wonderful Islands and encourage a more environmental friendly atmosphere. Many ecological projects and much effort have already started to try to address these problems, but as usual it is never enough, and more needs to be done to protect this natural wonder.

Biorock

http://biorock.org/

The Biorock® coral reef restoration method is a revolutionary technology that accelerates coral growth by applying a safe, low-voltage electrical current through seawater to a metal structure causing minerals dissolved in seawater to crystallize and deposit onto the metal structure. The resulting limestone material is a similar to what coral organisms themselves produce naturally.
