DiVo is an Australian-based non-profit network whose aim is to bring active marine conservation participation to the recreational scuba diving market.

If you are a recreational scuba diver who would like to:

• · go beyond the usual recreational diving or liveaboard experience

• · experience marine conservation activities as part of a dive holiday

• · develop your education in marine and reef ecology

• · witness close up encounters between marine scientists, marine conservationists and marine life

• · but don’t have the time to participate in “gap year”/sabbatical volunteer camps

That’s where DiVo comes in. We identify marine conservation groups whose activities are suited to the recreational dive tourist. We bring you to the activity and arrange logistics around it.

And through the DiVo website, we hope to aggregate a one-stop shop so that the recreational diver can easily find out about the volunteer marine conservation and research groups out there.

This way, more recreational divers get introduced to marine conservation and research. And the dive voluntourist will have a dive with a difference to make a difference.
